Tesla, one of the leading Electric Car manufacturers owned by Elon Musk, recently announced a recall of over 3.21 million Electric vehicles in the US due to a flaw in the tail lights. This news comes shortly after Tesla recalled 30,000 Model Xs in the US due to an airbag issue. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has released a filing confirming the recall of the vehicles.
The recall affects certain model year 2023 Model 3s and 2020-2023 Model Ys. The company stated that the vehicles were identified based on their manufacturing, configuration, and firmware records. Tesla is currently working on a solution to fix the rear light issue, which is expected to arrive in the form of an over-the-air update. Fortunately, no reports of crashes related to the recall have been reported.
This marks the 19th US recall campaign for Tesla in 2022 and the fourth one in November. This raises the question of whether Elon Musk is paying enough attention to Tesla. Musk has been busy recently setting up social media giant Twitter, which has caused concern among Tesla investors. Musk responded to the worries with a tweet stating, “I have Tesla covered too. Will be there part of this week.”
Overall, Tesla’s recent recall of over 3 million vehicles in the US is a cause for concern, though Elon Musk has reassured investors that he is still focused on Tesla despite his involvement with Twitter.
