Fidias Panayiotou, a YouTuber, is living proof that dreams do come true. After two months of camping outside Twitter headquarters in the hopes of meeting and hugging Tesla CEO Elon Musk, his dream finally came true on National Hugging Day (January 21).
It all began when Fidias, also known as Fifi Panayiotou, made a post on Twitter to wish Elon Musk a happy National Hugging Day. He shared a picture of himself with Musk and wrote: “We are definitely living in a simulation @elonmusk! Happy National Hugging Day everyone.”
Elon Musk’s mother, Maye Musk, wasn’t too happy with Fidias as his YouTube followers flooded her Instagram comments. However, a friend of Musk, Pranay Pathole, shared a picture of Musk and a child during a World Cup match in Qatar, praising him for being “down to earth” and inspiring people to be kind to everyone.
On the same thread, Musk replied that the kids he talked to had only one request: to hug the guy who keeps trying to hug him in SF. He said he would be happy to do so and Fidias shared a video on social media where a kid requests Elon Musk for a hug.
The hug between Fidias and Musk was an incredible moment and a testament to the power of perseverance and belief in one’s dreams. Fidias proved that anything is possible if you’re willing to put in the work and dedication to make it happen.
It was also a reminder that we should never give up on our dreams and ambitions, no matter how difficult it may seem. Dreams can come true, even if you have to camp outside Twitter headquarters for two months. The lesson is to never give up, never surrender and keep chasing your dreams.
